Danone engaged Globrands to develop an internationally recognised brand name for a new generation of probiotic drinks developed to help strengthen our bodies natural defense systems. Thalys (1996) and Fyra (2009)

The high speed rail link between cities in Western Europe needed a name that suited its business objective of not being 'just another' train. The name Thalys sounds French sound, but remains easily pronounced by its international customer base.

It ris constructed using the words 'talisman', 'lys', the French lily, and the coast adjacent to the traject: Thalasse. It is also a name that can easily be connected to brand values like dynamic and speed.

13 years later, Thalys got a little sister: Fyra. Fyra is less exclusive and rides shorter distances. You can hear that in the name. read more...
